Cambodia made a big step into the future of online marketing.

Tinh Tinh E-commerce has been launched on 16th of August – first state-backed online shopping platform („tinh” is Khmer for “buy”). The platform is available in Khmer, English, and Chinese.

It seems that Cambodia has found its way to develop the country’s digital economy, which is a really smart move these days.

“I believe this platform will help local businesses, especially small and medium-sized ones, sell their products online to reach a global market” – Director-general of Cambodia Post, Ork Bora

Minister of Posts and Telecommunications Tram Iv Tek said that Cambodia needs more investments in technology to diversify its economy.

„The Cambodian economy used to be heavily reliant on the agricultural sector. Now the industry and service sectors are becoming our economic drivers” the minister said.

What does it mean for the rest of the world?

Countless different possibilities are associated with such a huge project but what is the most important thing – new OPPORTUNITIES for international cooperation.
