Recently, Cambodia isn’t showing itself just on the world’s tourism map.
For many international businesses, it ends up being the location of choice.
And for a good reason.
Cambodia is a member of the ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) and is a very attractive place for any business to flourish.
The income tax is progressive (and most importantly – low). The corporate income tax and the VAT equivalent are both on the low end as well and make the country an attractive destination for work and business.
No wonder that Cambodia began to attract the likes of Seedstars – world’s biggest startup competition in emerging markets.
This prestigious tech startup contest will be held in Phnom Penh in October and the winning startup will go home with up to half a million USD in equity investment.
The application process is now open to any startup with an MVP (minimum viable product) and less than $500k in funding received to date.
Hosting such an event will not only bring many international entrepreneurs into Cambodia (and give them a chance to see this beautiful country), but also boost the startup ecosystem in the Kingdom.
We are happy to see such an event in a country we believe (and continue to invest) in.
